DETECTION PART OF LOCAL FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS (LPHS)

The detection part of local fire extinguishing systems (LPHS) forms a basic element within fire safety technologies, designed for early recognition of emerging dangerous conditions, effective localization of the fire outbreak and subsequent activation of extinguishing. Its modular design and advanced diagnostic functions make the system suitable for a wide range of applications in industrial and process environments.

By its design, the detection system is able to detect and report the following conditions - OPERATION, FAULT, FIRE, EXTINGUISHMENT.

This detection system allows easy connection to any EPS system.

The PWG01 unit is an integral part of the local fire suppression systems (LPHS) and is used to evaluate signals from Protectowire PHSC type linear temperature detectors.
In addition to reliable fire detection, this unit offers advanced functionality - it allows approximate determination of the location of a short circuit on the detection cable, which greatly facilitates fire location in larger installations.
In addition, the PWG01 monitors the resistance of the detection loop so it can detect in time:

Gradual degradation of the conductor (e.g. loss of conductivity in the joints), formation of false conductive paths (e.g. due to moisture or dirt).

the occurrence of a fire (short circuit on the cable),
fault condition (e.g. loop breakage),
gradual degradation of the cable (loss of conductivity or formation of false conductive paths)

The extinguishing is started automatically if the detection cable detects one of the following conditions:

  1. Fire - detection of a short circuit in a given part of the cable.

  2. Pressure drop - the system can be connected to a pressure sensor. If the pressure drops below a set limit, fire suppression will be automatically triggered, typically by a sprinkler system.
