HmIP-SWSD Smoke detector

Fire detectors are an essential element of fire protection in any building. The Smoke Detector (HmIP-SWSD) reacts to the presence of smoke and in the event of an alarm, activates the built-in 85 dB siren, emergency lighting and sends an alarm signal to the Central Unit (HmIP-HAP). The user is then informed of the alarm event via push notifications via the Homematic IP mobile app on the smartphone.

Approval

The smoke alarm (HmIP-SWSD) uses modern photoelectric (optical) sensing technology and is independently tested to comply with all European standards. Of course, it is both CE certified and approved to EN 14604:2006 and CPD. Designed for installation in new buildings in accordance with Decree 23/2008 Coll., Decree on technical conditions for fire protection of buildings (as amended by 268/2011 Coll.).

Technology

All fire detectors operated in one Homematic IP system are wirelessly interconnected. Thus, up to 40 Smoke Detectors (HmIP-SWSD) can be connected to the Central Unit (HmIP-HAP) in one system. For example, if a fire is detected in the basement, the fire alarm is triggered not only by the fire detector installed locally in the place of the fire, but also simultaneously by other fire detectors in the Homematic IP system installed on other floors and rooms of the building.

Alarm indication and emergency lighting

This includes not only an acoustic warning by a built-in 85 dB siren and a visual red LED alarm indication, but also the activation of a powerful white LED emergency light to illuminate the escape route in heavily smoked areas for early exit from the building.

Testing

The detector is equipped with a large multi-function button, which is primarily used to periodically check the detector's operational status and system functions, but can also be used to silence the audible indication of an unwanted alarm.

Power supply

Two permanently integrated (non-removable) lithium batteries allow the detector to be powered with virtually maintenance-free operation for up to 10 years.

System operation

The wireless connection of the Smoke Fire Detector (HmIP-SWSD) to the Central Unit (HmIP-HAP) offers convenient setup and control of the comprehensive Homematic IP smart home system via an intuitive app (for Android and iOS in CZ) designed for smartphones. The mobile app enables instant response to messages and alerts from your smart home system and connects all Homematic IP devices via a free, unlimited cloud, which allows you to set up and control the system from anywhere in the world, transfer important information and update the software and firmware of the devices, and forward configuration and operational commands from the Homematic IP app towards individual smart home devices.

Homematic IP communication protocol

For secure, stable and reliable communication between devices, the system has its own unique radio technology on the operating frequency 868.0 - 869.525 MHz with fully encrypted AES-128\ communication. Operating on this frequency limits wireless transmissions to 1% of the clock time, ensuring long battery life for connected devices and users are not exposed to continuous wireless radiation. In addition, the central unit (HmIP-HAP) reliably detects radio interference.

The safety of the wireless IP protocol has been tested by the independent testing laboratory Techniker-Verband VDE in Germany and the testing institute AV-TEST.

The Homematic IP wireless technology enables communication with components up to a distance of 400 m in an open area or over several floors of a high-rise building, allowing reliable connection of devices even in remote locations. And if the range needs to be increased, it is sufficient to supplement the system locally with a switched socket (HMIP-PSM-PE), which also functions as a signal repeater, or an additional Central Unit (HmIP-HAP).

Unique solution

When creating profiles and scenarios, you can take into account all your needs in terms of building fire safety requirements, automation, heating, and a range of other criteria depending on your priorities.

Voice control

The Homematic IP smart home system, of which the smoke alarms are part, supports voice control and communication with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. For safe, stable and reliable communication, the system has its own unique radio technology between the devices.

Easy installation

Wireless communication and battery operation offer the possibility of easy installation without the need for cabling. This means that the fire detector can be placed easily and almost anywhere in the interior of the building.

Wide range of applications

Ideal for versatile use in homes, offices, businesses, healthcare facilities, etc.
